Boosting Digital Performance
I recently stepped in to address a year-over-year dip in website traffic and successfully turned it around, driving a 22% increase. My strategy blended cutting-edge web development with smart, data-driven insights and a truly collaborative partnership.
Our process began with insightful discovery sessions. I held initial meetings with the Director of Marketing, key subject matter experts, and executive leadership to understand their vision and challenges. During this phase, I also analyzed competitor websites and positioning to identify strategic opportunities. I then researched basic Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and SEO best practices, ensuring a strong, accessible, and visible foundation.
This understanding informed my development process. I meticulously refined the site’s front-end using HTML and efficient CSS3, guaranteeing responsiveness and rapid loading times for an optimal user experience. I also significantly enhanced website functionality, adding additional Gravity Forms, intuitive resource libraries, and a seamless Uber menu layout to improve navigation and user interaction. To ensure alignment, I developed staging environments and detailed wireframes for direct feedback from executive leadership, allowing for iterative refinement.
Responsive UX
A core element of my work involved applying responsive design principles to ensure seamless, optimal viewing across all devices. I leveraged tools like Beaver Builder and its plugins, and developed custom modules that extend functionality and perfectly fit project needs. I created engaging interactive modules and graphics using the Adobe Creative Suite—specifically After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop. These assets, fully optimized for web performance, are designed to showcase products and complex data through dynamic animations, clickable elements, and compelling data visualizations. I also enhanced user experience by designing and implementing Mega Menus for intuitive navigation. Throughout the development lifecycle, I efficiently incorporate feedback and manage revisions using platforms such as Wrike, spreadsheets, and email. Furthermore, I have a strong background in developing and integrating Icon Libraries directly into the WordPress environment, ensuring consistent and scalable visual assets.
American United
As a designer at Utah Media Group, a significant project involved the comprehensive website and graphics redesign for American United Federal Credit Union. This included designing clear navigation paths, engaging calls to action, and visually appealing layouts that conveyed trust and reliability, crucial for a financial institution. Concurrently, I developed a suite of graphics for the website, POS, and other digital assets, ensuring they were consistent with American United Federal Credit Union’s brand identity, utilizing their specific color palettes, typography, and imagery to create a cohesive and professional online presence that resonated with their existing and potential members.
Governor's energy summit
During my time at Utah Media Group, I had the privilege of contributing to the design and development of a portion of the app and website for the Governor’s Energy Summit.
This involved translating high-level objectives into an engaging and informative digital experience for a diverse audience, including policymakers, industry leaders, and the general public.
My role focused on ensuring that a key segment of the site and app was visually consistent with the broader summit branding I designed.
The design process involved close collaboration with the summit organizers through account managers, understanding their communication goals and the specific content they needed to highlight. My experience in developing and optimizing interactive graphics using tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The aim was to create a digital space that not only informed but also inspired, reflecting the summit’s importance in shaping the future of energy.
